The moment the paper rolls out of the machine, still a bit shiny and wet. That is a magical moment. That is the moment where my different layers and colors come together and form an artwork. When the ink on the paper is dry, I start all over again. I create something new because I  love the smell of freshly printed ink, the stains on my fingers from the wet ink, and the rush of printmaking.
I'm Marleen van Griethuijsen a 25-year-old illustrator based in Rotterdam with a passion for printmaking.
I also like to work with fabrics and have an interest in graphic design.
I get my inspiration from plants, and flowers, because of the beautiful colors they have. But also from things that make me happy in day-to-day life, like getting a postcard, creating gifts, and things that are out of the ordinary.
Besides drawing I really like playing board games, love to wear colorful big earrings, and am passionate about playing waterpolo.
